What are 10 things you've done that other people probably haven't?
Submitted by Janette.
- Petted a sea cucumber (Hundred Islands, Pangasinan, Philippines). But only my brother can claim he got squirted by one.
- Witnessed my father push a coin unto dry ice to hear the sound (don't do this at home!).
- Rode down a steeply sloped street in a kid's pedal-powered red Jeep with my brother who managed to avoid hitting cross traffic. At age 4 and 3 (him).
- Watched my father joke about putting one foot in one province, one foot in another province and pretending to do what only boys can do into a third province in the Philippines (his father was a surveyor, so he knew where things had to go).
- Witnessed a truck flip over in front of us and land on it's top.
- Almost died falling out of the back of a truck bed while 4x4 riding in the desert.
- Painted a portrait of my hubby. As far as I know, no one else has used him as a subject.
- Ate---and enjoyed!---military surplus MREs. I see you cringing. I happen to like freeze-dried strawberries.
- Have a baby born with teeth.
- I'd like to say: *not* enjoy watching a USC/Cal football game but my SIL can attest to the fact that everyone else there was just as bored!
Thanks to Linda, this post is brought to you by the letter B.
- Blessings
Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ. Eph 1:3 - The Bible
God’s Holy Word and my comfort, my guide, my sword. The one I visit most is the Blue Letter Bible. - Blood
The blood of Christ has washed me clean. I mess up, I say I’m sorry and He reminds me: …Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood…Rev 1:5b - Bounty
God has been so gracious to keep me and my family in a situation where we enjoy His spiritual blessings as well as the many of the comforts that most people on this planet never get to experience. - Boys
I have two to enjoy! My kids are an evidence of God’s love for me. I will sort of cheat and add my hubby. Didn’t someone joke about the difference between boys and men was the cost of their toys?
- Birthdays
They are a fun excuse to get lots of people crammed in our home and then feed them. And we have a few coming up in our family! - Brethren
It is awesome to have a very, very large family in Christ. - Baking
There is nothing like the smell of something in the oven filling the house. That reminds me, there are zucchini and carrots in the fridge waiting to be turned into carrot and zucchini bread. I hope I have chocolate chips to go in it. - Banter
Is there anything more enjoyable than a long, happy conversation with friends and family? They’re especially wonderful when they’re sprinkled with jokes and filled with edification. - Books
How can I not include this one? May I add magazines to this, as well? Some books that stand out in the landscape of my memory: The Chronicles of Narnia, The Bobsey Twins, The Complete Works of Edward Lear, a beautifully illustrated version of Alexandre Pushkin’s The Swan Princess, Griffin & Sabine trilogy by Nick Bantock, Frank Piretti’s Peircing the Darkness & This Present Darkness, Interweave Knits magazine, Knitscene Magazine…I have a list that goes for days so I will stop here.
There! I hope you enjoy my list. I’d be happy to hand one to you and
then post them here so you have a great excuse to blog hop. That is, if
you need an excuse
