I can finally post this since the giftee already received it.
This is a capelet and skirt I made for my niece’s birthday this past weekend. Unfortunately, I didn’t ever get a chance to buy ribbon to string through the neck of the capelet and top of skirt.
The capelet pattern is from the Anthropologie-inspired capelet pattern posted at Craftster.org and the skirt is Hey Mickey! from Knitty. They’re both knitted in Lion Brand Cottonease (I love this yarn) in Lime (color picked by J, who said his cousin loves that color). Top in size 8 needles, bottom in size 6 for a sturdier fabric, per pattern instructions. I had to approximate the size for both. Here you are, Joh! This is your birthday present from us (one of them). I will stick it in the mail when we can get out to go to the post office.
Knit with Lion Brand Cotton Ease on size 8 and 10.5 (US) needles in color taupe. Pattern by TragicHeroine. I didn’t opt to sew down the top collar since it’s well-behaved and will fold down on its own. That and Joh can pick wide or narrow collar.
Made for warding off the little bit of chill you can get in air conditioned places.
Please ignore the dirty mirror. I have yet to buy glass cleaner.
