Fun With Chalk

So we broke out of hibernation today and actually left the house to head somewhere fun. NM and I did go to church in the morning, but the youngest and hubby, but still under the spell of the Cold That Keeps On Giving, headed to Costco then home.

In the afternoon, though all of us, sans hubby, plus the lola, went to the local senior center/city events hangout for the 9th annual Fun With Chalk festival.

They invite a number of artists to spend two days drawing on pre-designated spaces. I really couldn’t tell if there was a particular theme; the subject matters were so different I doubt there was one. There were many that did try to reproduce other paintings, which is always interesting but I do prefer things to be more original and adapted to the medium.

Anyway, there are quite a few photos over here.

After five years of living in this town, I finally get to see Fun With Chalk! And to think we’re trying to move away from things like this. =P
