Bad stitches

What do you think is causing this? I can pull the stitches from below so that they lay flat but it would be nice not to have to worry about that.

Sad...it looks sloppy. Those stitches should lay perfectly aligned because I'm using a double needle and everything.

I think that is from the tension being wrong. But I don't know how to fix it! I finally got a machine that has an automatic tension thingy, I love it!

I'd say tension too. It may be a thicker fabric than you usually use, causing the tension to get thrown off. Your owner's manual should tell you how to adjust (up or down) and for which fabrics.

Well, I took the bobbin assembly apart and put it back together and now it's behaving. I also replaced the bent bobbin I had inside it, and maybe that had something to do with it but I'm not sure since part of the time I wasn't using that one.

I also cleaned the insides with that spray air stuff you use for computers and played with tension (it's a very thin cotton from Joann's that faded when washed the first time).

But now it's working, so, yay! I hope to have a new dress tomorrow.
